The valley of Thor

Thorsmork Iceland 4x4 Super Jeep Tours

In Iceland we have a lot of great places that we can visit in the highlands. Some are more popular then others and do attract travelers more then others. Things that mountain drivers, on modified Arctic Trucks look for in a good driving route are things like scenery, challenges and distance. One of the most popular route is the road to the valley of Thor which provides most of what mountain driver can ask for!

The valley of Thor, or Þórsmörk like the Icelanders call it is located about 140 km from Reykjavík. The route most driven to Þórsmörk is on the south shore of Iceland. On your way you pass many intersting sights! Waterfalls that you can walk behind, glaciers, volcanoes that have crippled the entire flight-opperation of Europe and many other beautiful sights. The drive consists of great challenges and amazing driving. Rough mountain roads, river-crossings and snow driving in the winter time!

Once you get in to The Valley of Thor, a beautiful mountain hut greets that stands in a range of mountains. The extraordinary scenery around the mountain hut leaves nobody untouched. After a good day of mountain driving, an experience which you will probably never forget, there is nothing that can compare to enjoying a BBQ leg of lamb with your friends and family!
