A private super jeep excursion that will take you onto Europe’s second-largest ice cap, Langjökull, and into the world-famous Into the Glacier ice tunnel!
There is no need to stress over time and try to get to a certain meeting location for this tour, we will come to the lobby of your hotel directly and pick you up. We will start the day by heading past the Hvalfjordur Fjord, through the Hvalfjardargöng Tunnel, dug underneath the fjord.
The first sightseeing stop of the day will be the beautiful Hraunfossar Waterfalls. This waterfall flows in multiple rivulets from underneath the Hallmundarhraun lava field creating a wonderful contrast from the black of the lava and appearing, seemingly, out of nothing.
We will be in Húsafell around lunchtime offering a good opportunity to grab something to eat. The Húsafell Bistro has a wonderful menu, but there is also a small convenience store on site where you can grab a sandwich to enjoy either on the road or in a scenic location en route to our next stop.
From here we head out towards the crown jewel of this tour! The Ice Tunnel on Langjokull Glacier. This is a unique opportunity to explore the world of the ice age. Before the Ice Tunnel, you could only see the surface of a glacier, but now, we can get to the heart of it!
After venturing into the glacier itself, we’ll have a bit of fun in the ice age like conditions, explore the capabilities of our super jeeps before returning back to civilization!
